Welcome, and thank you for visiting Healthcare Design Web. This project has been made possible by generous support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, direction from the Center for Health Design, and development by the Georgia Institute of Technology.
This web page is intended to function as an Internet-based design tool that will consist of a collection of best-practice examples of healthcare design. While we are currently focusing on Medical-Surgical nursing floors, we foresee future versions of this tool including other healthcare environment types such as Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units, among others.
This tool will function as a design aid, be a database for knowledge development and operate as a community forum for the exchange of ideas and new developments. This website will allow healthcare decision-makers and designers to explore photos, text, plans, immersive images and data drawn from Center for Health Design's Pebble Partners as well as other best practice healthcare designs. The end users will be able to benchmark their goals and solutions against best practices and view innovative solutions.
As you can see, the potential for this tool is very exciting. No such site currently exists and we anticipate heavy use. However, it is only with the help of the healthcare community, and specifically those who have made environments that support patient centered care a main priority, that we can make this plan come to fruition.
If you would like more information please contact Dr. Craig Zimring (Principal Investigator) or Keith Jundanian (Project Manager).
